TOYS FOR TOTS
DOWNED RIDERS FUND
What is the Downed Riders Fund? The Downed Riders Fund is a way for us to help our own members, according to our mission statement.
Who qualifies for it? Any member facing hardship. He or she does not have to have been in an actual motorcycle accident. The Downed Riders Fund has given money to members to help pay surgical bills or after a house fire.
How do I apply? A member must present a letter of request to the Board of Directors. They will then discuss it and vote on it, and a majority vote is needed to approve the request. Each case is considered on its individual merits and a member can submit a request on another member's behalf.
If I've already received help from the Downed Riders Fund, can I get it again? Yes, for another, separate incident. No member can claim this benefit more than one time in a 12-month period.
Where does the money come from? The Downed Riders Fund is replenished through our 50/50 raffle sales or through donations specifically designated for the fund.
