As promised, your president would like to inform our membership about an update in the legal action mentioned below. On March 12, 2013 at 8:50 a.m., Carol A. Lisciandrello was arrested at the Bridgeview Police Department and charged with theft. This information is part of the public record that can be found at the Police 2 Citizen arrest website. I will continue to inform the membership of any additional updates related to this legal issue. T.F.T. would like to thank the officers and lawyers involved in amassing the evidence that led to this arrest and to the D.A. that I am sure will prosecute this case fully to help deter similar crimes against charitable organizations.

Former Chicagoland Toys for Tots volunteer Carol Lisciandrello pleaded guilty to Theft by Deception, a Class II felony, on Thursday, July 3rd. After claiming a mental illness caused her to embezzle over $25,000 over a two-year period, Lisciandrello apologized to the organization before being sentenced to 24 months of probation and ordered to pay full restitution. In court she handed Chicagoland Toys for Tots President George Lester Fortier, Jr. a cashier's check for $11,994 and the remainder will come from her bond and will be mailed to Chicagoland Toys for Tots immediately.
