The Picnic and Pig Roast was a great success with beautiful weather, fantastic food, games, and awesome live entertainment. Thank you to all of the volunteers who made it happen!

Whiskey Road finished off the day, following They Found Us, Reverent T and the Soulshakers, Ground Control, and Superfly Redneck, while DJ Lenny D entertained in the pavilion.

Dunk the presidents! Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run President Ray Prokaski got in a dunk contest with Chicagoland Toys for Tots President Lester Fortier. The winner was ... all of the kids helped by Toys for Tots! Bylaw/Historian Sharon D. Allen helped Sally Prokaski dunk her daddy.

Ashley Szumny painted faces while Gwenn Fox and her crew led games for the kids.

Lin Mifflin and Secretary Peggy Estes worked the raffle table.

Vice President Tom Dertz got some payback on his dunkers.

Charlie and his Angels (Product Coordinator Roy Miller and his committee) sold Chicagoland Toys for Tots tank tops and t-shirts.

So, Patches, how many other clowns are in THAT clown car?

The next Board Meeting is Tuesday, August 19th at 7:30 pm at VFW Post 6863, 7256 W. 63rd Street, Summit, IL.





Chicagoland Toys for Tots is bringing its product on tour! Come out and support establishments that support us, enjoy the music, camaraderie and a frosty beverage or two, and shop for product.The new gear will debut at the Kickoff Party on September 20th.

There will be a benefit for Weird on Saturday, September 6th at Davern's Tavern from 2 pm- 1 am. He was in a motorcycle accident on May 9th and he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. A $10 donation at the door covers food and live entertainment. Raffles all day, including a 55" TV.

The 3rd Annual Fill the Closet Toy Run for the Shriners Children's Hospital will be Wednesday, August 6th


Starting point: Southsides

Items needed: coloring books, crayons, book bags, puzzles, board games, word games, colored pencils, and other things to occupy a child during his or her stay. Monetary Donations are also welcome.
